Kohan's father was a physician, took actively part in Warsaw's Jewish cultural life.
Was in the Warsaw Ghetto, went into hiding and entered the resistance movement / was a partisan.
After Second World War, Kohan came to Berlin >br< 1947 Berlin (DP)>br< There he worked as an editor of a Jewish newspaper (Yiddish? which one?) and participated in publishing several volumes of Jewish literature (Yiddish? which ones?).>br<
